DATE OF BIRTH: Est. DOB Feb. 2014
No foster ever stepped forward for Sammy, but I was able to find him a spot in another super rescue! Sammy already has a potential adopter and they are interested in training Sammy as an emotional support dog and to help with mobility and balance. Way to go, Sammy! We are so happy for you!!!
***COURTESY POST – GATES COUNTY, NC***
Silly Sammy was found in Gates County, NC in late February. The nice lady who found him knew that he would be killed if she turned him in to the local shelter (they told her that) and she didn’t want that to be his fate. She did her due diligence to find his family, but to no avail, so now he needs a new family!
Sammy is about 2 years old and is great with kids, walks well on the leash, and hasn’t had any potty accidents in the house. He is friendly around the dogs in the waiting area of the vet’s office when he has gone for his shots, etc. Sammy struts his stuff and prances when he’s happy or excited, and he loves his stuffed raccoon toy. He’s a “leaner” and shows his loyalty by following you wherever you go and lying on your feet, just to be near you. Sammy even knows some commands, such as sit, shake, no, and come, and he’s doing a great job of curbing his enthusiasm when he meets new people and not jumping up on them. Sammy really, really loves people!
It seems like Sammy must have been left alone in a chain link pen in his past life, and he will work to escape so he can hang out with you…dogs are family, after all! He is working on his crate training and starting to understand that he isn’t going to be abandoned, without any companionship, again. Sammy will be neutered April 14th, will be microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccines. Unfortunately, he is heartworm positive, but he is currently undergoing treatment. Sammy will be ready to join his new family as soon as he completes his heartworm treatment in early to mid-June. He is full grown and is a lean, solid boy at 60 pounds.
Contact for Sammy is Melissa Wilson at 252-334-7051 or email@example.com. Sea Dog Rescue will be assisting Melissa with placing Sammy in a great home and screening applicants. If you are interested in adopting Sammy, please fill out an Adoption Application on the Sea Dog Rescue website.
Reference checks, home visit, adoption fee and adoption contract will be required.
