Sweet Lucy has been ADOPTED! Lucy’s new mom is a previous Sea Dog Rescue adopter and has made room in her heart for another Sea Dog after the loss of her sweet girl, “Dew”. Miss Lucy will have a wonderful life being spoiled by her new mom!
Imagine walking into your home and calling, “Eh Luuuu-cy, I’m home!”, and from somewhere close by you hear a steady pitter-patter of paws, albeit not too fast, and Ms. Lucy greets you to welcome you home. Sea Dog Lucy is a quiet girl (no howling!) who is finally going to enjoy a life with a family who will love her and include her as a beloved family member rather than “just a dog”. Lucy was found on the roadside, all alone, and we just can’t understand how anyone could abandon her like that. When you sit beside her, your spirit becomes calm; when she puts her head on your knee, your heart becomes full. Lucy is well-behaved and her favorite past-times include lounging on her dog bed, lounging on the couch, lounging in the chair, and a little walk to work. She may be more mature, but she hasn’t retired yet and she goes to work with her foster mom in Norfolk, VA every day. She brightens everyone’s world and is ready to brighten yours too!
Lucy is approximately 7 years old (est. DOB 2/28/2010) and is a quiet, gentle, calm girl who loves napping in the sun and snuggling with her person; she is good with people, other dogs, and cats. Lucy is medium-sized, weighing about 31 pounds, and has had all her routine veterinary care updated; Lucy is spayed and is heartworm negative. She lives with her foster mom in Norfolk, VA and goes to work with her each day! She is ready to meet her new family and move in as soon as you can get her bed made!SEE MORE PHOTOS OF LUCY ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE! SEE LUCY IN HER FIRST VIDEO!
*Sea Dog Rescue is a foster home based rescue – we do not have a shelter or kennel facility nor do we have regular hours when our companions can be seen. For the safety of our foster caregivers and our dogs, applications must be submitted and references checked prior to setting an appointment for a Meet and Greet with our dogs in our foster homes.*
All of our dogs have some potty training under their belly, however, dogs less than 8 months of age are not considered reliably potty trained. Most of our dogs less than 6 months of age are not yet spayed or neutered but this will be done by the rescue when they are 6 months old and is included in the adoption fee; these dogs enter homes as ‘Foster to Adopt’ and ownership transfer will not occur until after surgical sterilization is completed. All of our dogs are up to date on vaccinations, including rabies if they are old enough. Microchipping is included in the adoption fee.
